چکیده
Abstract In offshore engineering, the phenomenon of free span often occurs, and pipeline may have multiple spans adjacent to each other, forming a multi-span pipeline. The interaction different makes structural vibration characteristics more complex, which change fatigue affect safety structure. this paper, model tests were designed explore vortex-induced (VIV) pipelines investigate mechanism. experimental study mainly focused on dynamic response double-span pipelines, further extended triple-span hoping that results can be applied complex environment. effects span-length ratio, buried depth axial force VIV investigated discussed. varied with length. There was obvious between pipe-sediment obviously affected differences burial changed stiffness. With increase depth, amplitude presented downward trend. spanwise evolutions asymmetric caused by interaction. help identify in realize prevention control spans.

Research on Inhibition Effect of Vortex-Induced Vibration of Submarine Pipeline with Horizontal Spoilers
This study discusses hydrodynamic effects of horizontal spoilers fixed on submarine pipelines. Numerical calculations are conducted to investigate the influences of the spoiler on flow profile, vortex shedding frequency, drag coefficients and lift coefficients. The calculation results demonstrate that attached horizontal spoilers could change the wake flow and enhance the self-burial of the pip...
متن کاملAccidental Limit State of Submarine Pipeline: Trawl Gears Pull-Over Loads and Effect of Free Span
Submarine pipelines failures lead to oil spills in water and may even lead to explosions with heavy financial and environmental damages. Trawl gear is one of the main factors in the failure of the submarine pipelines. In this paper, sensitivity analysis is performed on influence of height and span length alternations on the response of pipeline against the traction caused by trawling pull-over ...
متن کاملNumerical Modeling of Seismic-induced Soil Response Around Submarine Pipeline
Seismic-induced pore pressure and effective stresses in the saturated porous seabed under seismic loading are the main factors that govern the overall stability of submarine pipelines. In most of the previous investigations for the seismic-induced dynamic response around a submarine pipeline have been limited to two-dimension cases. In this paper, a three-dimensional finite element model includ...
متن کاملA Low - Cost Wave - Sediment - Towing Tank
The design and construction of a small wave-sediment tank, built and instrumented for under $10,000, is described. The tank is equipped with a piston-type wavemaker, capable of producing both small-amplitude and solitary waves. The middle section of the tank contains a sediment bed appropriate for wave-soil-structure interaction and sediment transport experiments. Wave energy is absorbed by a g...
متن کاملa numerical model of vortex-induced vibration on marine risers
the steger and warming flux vector splitting implicit scheme is used to numerically solve two dimensional reynolds averaged navier–stokes (rans) equations governing the vortex induced vibration of a flexible riser laterally supported by a spring and a damper. the k–ε model is used as turbulence model to simulate the turbulent flow in the wake of the riser. to update the new position of the rise...
